Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Refund Policy describes the general circumstances in which a refund may be issued for a purchase made on SWAP, and how refunds are typically processed.
When Refunds May Be Issued
A refund may be issued in situations such as:
- An order that fails to arrive after a confirmed on-platform purchase.
- An item that is significantly different from its listing description.
- An order cancelled by the seller or buyer before the item has shipped.
How Refunds Are Issued
Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method used for the transaction. Refund processing times can vary depending on your payment provider, and we will communicate a general timeframe during the review of your request rather than a fixed number of days.
What Is Not Refundable
Refunds are generally not available in the following situations:
- Buyer's remorse on an item that was accurately described and matched its listing.
- Transactions arranged or completed outside the Platform.
- Items that were altered, used beyond normal inspection, or damaged after delivery.
Refunds and Disputes
Most refund requests are handled through our dispute process. Opening a dispute on the relevant transaction allows our team to review the details from both the buyer and seller before a refund decision is made. See our Swap Protection page for more on how disputes work.
